Trip Report

Lake Victoria — Friday, Jul. 22, 2022

Central Cascades

To get to the trail, you have to trespass a gated road. This hike is a difficult hike to navigate and it is steep. Strongly recommend wearing clothes that cover up your arms and legs since there is a lot of logs and bushes that can leave some cuts. The trail is difficult to navigate for the first 2,000 feet of elevation gain, it is covered in bushes and you’ll be hopping/stepping over a lot of logs. Do your best to follow the trail, if you lose the trail like we did you’ll end up bushwhacking your way up for about 1,000 feet of elevation. Be very careful on stepping over some of the logs since they can break easily or even slide down. Once you get passed the bushy part and logs which is around 5,100 feet, you want to start to going towards the direction of Victoria Lake. You’ll see some stacked rocks, pink/orange ribbons that you should follow since there isn't really a clear trail to follow. There is a lot less bushes and logs on this part of the hike. The last 500 feet, you’ll be jumping/walking over 3 short length boulder fields if you follow the ribbons and stacked rocks. It took us 5-6 hours to get to the lake.
