Warner Bros. wants to turn Harry Potter and the Cursed Child into a Movie!

September 05, 2016

Harry Potter and the magical world of Witchcraft and Wizardry is arguably Warner Bros. most prized assets. The 10 year Harry Potter franchise grossed an estimated $7.7 billion in box office revenue, spawning an entire Hogwarts inspired theme park, all excluding the millions of dollars gained from HP merchandise sold every year.

Subsequently Warner Bros. quickly snapped up the rights to the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Movie due for release in November, along with all subsequent sequels.

Therefore, it is hardly a surprise that Warner Bros. now have their eyes set on making a movie of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child book, which was released in book stores in August. The news that every Potterhead across the globe has been hoping for!

Snape Approves

To make it even better, the studio intends to return Daniel Radcliffe to his pivotal role as Harry.

The book is set 19 years later, therefore the 27-year-old actor may find it difficult to play the middle aged Auror. Not to mention that Daniel Radcliffe has previously expressed that he does not intend to return to his role as Harry Potter...but we can live in hope, can’t we? Reunion anybody?

I mean, no one else is capable of filling the 'cupboard under the stairs' hole in our hearts.

Let's hope for the Official Announcement soon!
