Fun fact! Eyespots are the eye-like markings on the wings of some butterflies and moths, like this great owl moth. They are believed to serve the purpose of confusing potential predators and drawing attention away from the most vulnerable body parts of the insect, and there is evidence that eyespots can startle and even scare off predators. https://upload.facebook.com/projectnoah/...
