Zac Efron, perennial hunk, man of your dreams, is in a new movie called The Beach Bum that's dropping later this month. In it, he debuts a hairstyle not unlike a freshly pressed panini. In fact, the cut was actually inspired by that particular vein of sandwich.

This news comes to us via The New Yorker's Laura Leibowitz, who wrote the film's director was the one to confirm the style's origin. There's really not much more we know about all of this other than that (1) Harmony Korine really did say this at SXSW this week and (2) Rolling Stone describes Zac's character in the film as a "rehab-facility resident who apparently took tonsorial-design tips from MC Esher," so that's helpful, context-wise, I guess?

Anyway. It doesn't matter if the hair was actually panini-inspired or not because all it took was the mere suggestion it might be, and the Twitterverse ran wild.

Even before this, when Zac was posting sandwich-y thirst traps all over the webz while shooting the movie, people noticed the resemblance:

This is all just to say that there's just about nothing you can do to an extremely good-looking person's style that would take away from the fact that he/she is extremely good-looking. If Selena Gomez were to tattoo a bowl of spaghetti onto her face? Wow, yes. Should Cardi start dressing like a giant hamburger? I'm into it. Zac Efron as an actual IRL panini? One hundred percent yes, would eat.
