Zac Efron, more commonly known as everyone’s childhood boyfriend, has taken his swooping crest of brunette hair and killed it. Yes, Zac Efron is now a platinum-blonde boy, and the internet is not okay.
In a photo Zac (we’re on a first-name basis) posted to Instagram yesterday afternoon, we see a brawny dude scaling a rock-climbing wall. It is, of course, our Zac. “No Free Solo,” our Zac captioned the photo, which nobody read, because they were all too distracted by the fact that our Zac, our High School Musical Zac, our first junior-high crush Zac, had dyed his hair bright-white blonde. What.
Before you cry, “It’s a faraway shot! It’s a confusing lighting trick!” there’s more photographic evidence that fans have uncovered, all pointing to the fact that yes, Zac really is a blonde boy now.
Squint, push your face to the screen, and you can pretty much make out that one of those blondies is now Zac. Fans are, naturally, divided:
See? Divided. In the end, though, Zac is his own independent being with the autonomy to dye his hair whatever color he wants, so none of our opinions matter at all. But, even still, I would like to see more photos, so I can acquaint myself with this new Zac. Can someone arrange that please? Thanks.
