I saw 2 juvenile black-shouldered kites without parents today (in 2 different places) and an adult pair. I think the juveniles are so beautiful with their delicate colors. I also saw an adult pair of nankeen kestrels.

Great find! You must live up north ? It's still a bit cold down here , the b.o.p. I have been watching them do aerial display and they are collecting sticks and are perch around the nest. May be just to let the Raven know that this one is taken?

Thanks for your comments. Nightowl I live near Newcastle in New South Wales. I saw two different lots of nankeen kestrels mating this week. The whistling kites have been adding to their nest but I don't know if they have babies yet. Which BOP are you watching?
W. kites ,Brahminy, osprey, W.S.Eagle, at their nest. Trying to find white phase goshawk & swamp harrier nest ? Iam about 3hrs north , at lake Cathie. Still learn how post photos . May be try again.

Kim, the juvenile Black-shouldered Kite is simply devine. What a photo.
The first nice day, I will go to the Western Treatment Plant, where I took all the photos of the BSK , there must be some young now? I saw some mate 4 weeks ago.

Thanks again and I'll put my beautiful adult here for comparison. M-L yours may have young later than ours if it's still very cold. Yesterday it was 23 here. Adrienne it does look better, but better again on my screen as a desktop bakground.
Yes Kim they do look better here than on FB, then again good photos look great anywhere. I just love Black-shouldered Kites.
And I love taking photos of them. I love their chunky feet.
