White-fronted Plover
It was great to finally get good close views of these plovers. The ones we saw at West Coast NP in August of 2007 were very distant and unsatisfying. Highly variable, four to eight subspecies are recognized. Birds in Namibia are considered nominate "C. m. marginatus", which is the palest and grayest of the various races.
