CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 42-foot male sperm whale was found dead near Charleston on Wednesday.
On Feb. 21, an aerial flight crew with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) alerted the Lowcountry Marine Mammal Network (LMMN) about the dead sperm whale. A partial necropsy was conducted on the whale the following day, according to the LMMN.
