My chase for the perfect picture started when I spotted this beautiful Moth sitting on the window sign on entering the restaurant at the peak of the mountain.
At only 1.6 m tall, it was quite a mission to get a good shot even when I zoomed in, so the next best thing was to try to disturb the moth without stressing or hurting it, so it will move to a different area.
There were other people in the restaurant enjoying breakfast and I had to be careful to firstly, not look like a clown while doing all sorts of things to get the Moth to move and secondly not to hurt it or get it to fly out of sight.
After 10 minutes trying everything possible that came to mind getting it to move, the Moth took note of my desperate attempt and flew down to land on the foot end of a stool. I tried to take a shot but because it was stressed it hardly stood still for a few seconds so I only got this one photo but could capture the beautiful eyes on the wings.
Lucky for me it moved over to the floor, but people were walking close to it so once again I had to play it quick to get this shot.
To my hearts delight, it finally flew out of the restaurant and landed (I think, especially for me and all the effort I have gone through to get it to move, wink wink) on this perfect spot on the rocks. Look at the split in the rock and the green little plant growing from it and a few cm higher my Moth. What else can a women ask for?
The cream-eyed owl moth has beautiful owl-eyed markings on both its wings. These fierce looking eye markings are there to scare off their predators like, wasps and flies. You will find them in low density climates and their larvae’s enjoy feeding on Acacia. The female can lay hundreds of eggs but only six needs to survive to preserve this species.

Hmmm.. nice. All the moths I get are beige and their life's ambition seems to be to circle me, bump into my head and eventually fly into my glass of ice tea.
Wow ponimayu, you obviously do not have a great love for these little beasts. Yes, we do have those too, and I do agree that they can be quite a nuisance but there are some beauties out there that acts and looks a lot like butterflies. Makes me think of the saying "Drawn like a month to a candle/light".

No, not at all ace108, think we are too used to creepy things surrounding us in my country.
