Final Fantasy VII Hits Staggering Milestone For Copies Sold

Despite being released decades ago, Final Fantasy VII is still arguably one of the series' most important titles. Final Fantasy VII laid the groundwork for current games in the genre, and many fans still remember the game fondly.

In fact, Final Fantasy VII just celebrated its 26th anniversary recently, and Square Enix has announced yet another landmark achievement for the cherished classic. Final Fantasy VII director Yoshinori Kitase said that over 14.1 million copies have been sold since its release.

Recently, the Japanese Anniversary Association has also declared January 31 to be 'Final Fantasy VII Day', according to Square Enix.

Final Fantasy VII has left a lasting impression on fans of the franchise. The legendary JRPG featured characters such as Cloud and Sephiroth, as well as fascinating storylines that enthralled fans for decades.

The original game, plus its flashier modern cousin Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, is available on almost all major consoles and PC, making it accessible to the newer generation of gamers who want to experience what can be considered a core memory for senior gamers.
