60 years later, 25 films, six James Bond actors, and one martini “shaken, not stirred.” It also wouldn’t be a Bond film without its iconic Bond women, incredible stunts, gadgets, gizmos, and villains who have all graced the silver screen since 1962 with Sean Connery’s portrayal of Bond in the classic film Dr. No.
British author Ian Fleming created the character of James Bond in 1953 in a series of 12 books and two short collections which would go on to be one of the most celebrated franchises in movie history.
007 has seen six actors step into the role of Bond over the decades. Sean Connery portrayed the original bond in Dr. No and would appear in seven more films. George Lazenby would only appear in 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, followed by Roger Moore in Live and Let Die, and he would also take on the role of Bond in seven films.
Timothy Dalton, the third 007 in the franchise would take on Bond for two features, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill followed by Pierce Brosnans’ debut in 1995s Goldeneye. He would go on to make four more Bond films and his successor, Daniel Craig, would take the reins in 2006s Casino Royale followed by Quantum of Solace; Skyfall; Spectre, and his final film in the franchise, No Time to Die.
