Stig Lindberg’s pattern Melodi on tile in new housing complex
Stig Lindberg’s pattern Melodi in giant format is the most recently completed project Everstyle produced for Ikano Bostad AB in Gustavsberg, Värmdö. Re-creating patterns that were originally intended for textiles or porcelain for giant size have their challenges!
We have recreated the pattern in three different color settings; gray, orange and in green. We are fascinated by Stig Lindberg’s great creative power, ideas and refined colors, which really deserve a new arena to be seen on! His designs can be seemingly simple but are ingenious in the basics. The design is timeless and at least as current today as when it was created. We have the pleasure of reproducing and producing different patterns of Stig Lindberg on tiles and tiles, for interior and exterior environments as well as in bathrooms. We have also been entrusted with creating our own unique color settings and combinations, but in this case the original colors were chosen, which will be outstanding in their lighting power and quality on the tiles!
The project includes decoration in five stairwells, located in four house complexes, one of which is a high-rise building. It is assignment no. 2 for Ikano Bostad: In the first project we produced the pattern Berså in green and gray color scheme, in the form of large trees in the stairwells.
Art tiles with matt surface gives the pattern an extra depth and the floor tiles / colors has been given a color scheme adapted to the patterns in each stairwell. Very tasteful. We are all satisfied with the cooperation and we look forward to seeing the result of a third assignment together, also in Gustavsberg, where Stig Lindberg lived and worked.
