Some of these photos show juveniles which are all brown, lacking white on the face, and immatures which are mostly brown. The spur on the carpus of the wing is a rudimentary thumb, lost through digit fusion in most other birds: note the prominent carpal spur in the left 3rd row flight photo, the right lower photo and in slideshow photo #11.
