Bitou Kayaks

Bitou Kayaks

CLOSED UNTIL END OF APRIL 2024

Welcome to the gem of the world-famous, aptly named Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay. The Bitou and Keurbooms Rivers hide an abundance of natural gems, only appreciated by exploring these rivers.

Bitou Kayaks invites you to join us on 2, 3 or 4 hours guided tours up these rivers to experience the peace and tranquility and magnificent bird life of the Bitou River and the pristine indigenous forests surrounding the Keurbooms River. Alternatively, you can hire a kayak and wander along the rivers at your own pace. No previous kayaking experience is required. We will provide a mandatory pre-trip safety briefing as well as the necessary safety gear. All our kayaks have been certified by SAMSA. You will be provided with a waterproof pouch for your mobile and car keys.

BITOU AND KEURBOOMS RIVER KAYAK TRIPS AND KAYAK RENTALS

Bookings are essential and all trips are weather dependent – your safety comes first! Please ensure you are contactable on the mobile number you supplied when booking so we can notify you in case of the unlikely event of cancellation. Please see the map for meeting points. The Bitou River trip begins and ends at the Emily Moon River Lodge car park; while the Keurbooms River trip begins and ends at the “Ferries” launch spot alongside the Keurbooms River Bridge. Please note that launching on the latter incurs an additional fee of R100.00 as you are entering a Nature Reserve. This fee goes directly to Cape Nature.
