This sculpture depicts a deep-sea battle between two leviathans. At least, I think it does. Documentation of these conflicts are hard to come by! It's a marvelous piece, though, with lots of excitement and movement. The creatures are carved from recycled hardwood, stained, and hand painted. The base is oak. The two long tentacles on the squid are basket fibers. The entire piece was given several coats of clear acrylic. It measures roughly 19" long and 8-3/4" high by 3-7/8" wide at the flukes. Discretely initialed and dated by the artist.
