Built for the 2010 World Cup and now home of Premier Soccer League teams Ajax Cape Town and Cape Town City; Cape Town Stadium aka Green Point Stadium is located between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean and adjacent to the city centre and popular tourist venue – Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

The venue once held 64,100 spectators which was then reduced to 55,000 after the World cup to meet the expected lower crowd demands. Since opening in 2009, it has host hosted rugby union and ruby sevens events along with international football friendlies, domestic league matches and concerts such as Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Justin Bieber and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The stadium also features hospitality suites, medical, training, and conferencing facilities.
