RAIN QUEEN | CORRUGATED STEEL PRODUCTS

Pools, Hot Tubs & Baths

Our Corrugated RainQueen pools, hot tubs and bath tubs provide an easy, aesthetic and really unique style that will transport you back in time into the middle of the Karoo. We have an assortment of standard sizes but can custom make almost any size to fit your requirements.

Pools

Our corrugated RainQueen pools provide an easy, aesthetic and incredibly practical alternative to enjoying summer.

There are two different options to consider when trying to decide which Farm-Style RainQueen Pool will best suit you. With both of these options a choice of which liner will need to be made (mostly we supply our pools with a light blue vinyl liner that can withstand chlorine. Alternatively if you plan on not using chlorine then you could choose a slightly less expensive black PVC liner).

What is the difference between a Hot Tub and a Pool?

A Hot Tub is normally a maximum of 2.4m in diameter and has a maximum height of 0.8m with a sheet metal bottom. The Hot Tub has neither a liner nor is painted internally but is left in its raw galvanised corrugated steel form. Pool chemicals CANNOT be used in a Hot Tub. Liners cannot be used in our Hot Tubs due to the heat factor.

A Pool has a liner and is generally larger in diameter and has no bottom. Pools with a diameter of less than 2.4m can also have a sheet metal bottom attached and are then known as our ‘ready to swim’ instant pools.

Our Pools cannot be converted into a Hot Tub with the addition of a wood fired stove.

POINTS TO CONSIDER

  • Pool chemicals can corrode galvanized steel (light blue vinyl liner is the only option available for this method of cleaning).
  • The corrugated pool wall is not strong enough to secure a ladder to (we suggest an aluminium fold up ladder with rubber mat on top of liner).
  • A kreepy krawly will not work on the corrugated wall (scrub with brush and then vacuum the floor to clean).
  • We can supply a shade cloth pool cover.

MORE INFORMATION ON OUR LINERS.

Black PVC liner: 550 gram per square meter PVC liner - NOT SUITABLE FOR THE USE OF CLEANING CHEMICALS (natural cleaning methods would have to be used).

Light blue vinyl liner: 550 microns with a built in chemical algicide - SUITABLE FOR THE USE OF CLEANING CHEMICALS.

Hot Tubs

Our RainQueen Hot Tubs have grown in popularity over the last couple of years and are fast becoming a ‘must-have’ for any holiday getaway destination. Our RainQueen Hot Tubs are a quick and affordable option that are a wonderful and rustic solution to a very sophisticated pass time.

DISCLAIMER: our tubs are NOT suitable for all applications.

RainQueen Hot tubs

Tub Specifications: Medium or Large

Medium Tub: 2m diameter / 0.8m high (comfortably fits 2-4 people)
Large Tub: 2.4m diameter / 0,8m high (comfortably fits 4-6 people)

Each tub comes with 1 x 40mm outlet approximately 130mm from the base of the tub used to drain the water.

DISCLAIMER: our tubs are NOT suitable for all applications.

Our corrugated steel tubs are left in their raw galvanised corrugated steel form and can withstand the heat from either a stainless steel or aluminum wood fired stove.

Our tubs are NOT lined and are therefore NOT suitable for the use of pool chemicals / water not of drinking quality.

Our RainQueen Hot Tubs are sold as two separate items - the corrugated tub and the wood fired stove - that are then installed as a unit on site.

Hot Tub Stove 2

Wood Fired Stove Specifications: Medium or Large

The wood fired stove (aluminium or stainless steel) comes with a 1.5m chimney and an ash scoop.

ABOUT THE STOVES:

The wood fired stove, aluminium or stainless steel, needs to be bolted into the base of the corrugated steel tub and secured with bolts into the concrete slab below.

The fire is lit in the bottom of the stove using firelighters and kindling. Thereafter the temperature is controlled by the amount of wood fed into the stove and the amount of air you allow into the stove. The water needs to be stirred in order to help the heating process. This process should take between 4-6 hours.

Additional beige PVC cover: Medium or Large

This cover can help to keep the water clean of falling leaves et cetera when not in use but can also be used to help speed along the heating process by trapping the heat inside the tub.

IMPORTANT:

  • Our tubs need to be placed on a previously prepared concrete base (we do not provide this service).
  • The water, when dirty, will need to be emptied and the tub refilled. This water can be used to water the garden.

Bath Tubs

Our RainQueen Bath Tubs are a stunning blend of ‘old Karoo farm house’ and a more modern design. Made to be an outdoor bath and enjoyed beneath a vast African sky.

Our RainQueen Baths have grown in popularity and we have found that a further two applications have become more and more common. We now supply three different sizes: our standard bath tub (used for normal outdoor bath applications); our ICE BATH (used in cold water treatment) and a Baptism bath (used in baptism ceromonies).

Bath tub specifications:

  • 1 x 40mm outlet / plug (placement to be confirmed by customer)

Bath tub details:

  • They are made from galvanised corrugated steel with a flat sheet metal base.
  • They are left in the raw galvanised corrugated steel form (unpainted).
Please note that they are not suitable for the use of pool chemicals.
  • Our bath tubs need to be placed on a concrete slab (or a smooth, level surface).
