I took this image back in 2011 on a trip to Namibia. It was the first time I had seen Sossusvlei with water in it which was a treat, another treat is that other than the driver you took me into Sossusvlei I was the only person there, not a soul to be seen which meant no footprints in the sand.

I climbed up this dune, leaving footprints behind me of course and then sat here and waited for the setting sun to start sinking behind the dunes. I just love the textures and rich colors of this image and it was certainly quite a unique experience to be in Sossusvlei all by myself and to enjoy the stunning scenery and silence.
