The project aim is mainly the rehabilitation and protection of lions that has been rescued from canned hunting farms and lion petting establishments. The project aims to provide a safe and secure environment for the rescued and future rescued lions.

Namibia Volunteer Projects

This is one of our most popular projects & receives support from Angelina Jolie! Get involved with efforts to give animals the best chance of being rehabilitated back into the wild and to support the local community & environment.

Located near our Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary, this 14 night course runs once a month where you will spend the time out in the bush together with our APU team joining them on their patrols, learning about bush survival, the science of poaching and about tracking and the use of firearms.

Rhino Guardians Course with International Working Holidays

An absolute must when you visit Namibia. Kanaan is home to all the world famous iconic vistas in Namibia, not to mention some of the country’s most spectacular wildlife. The perfect combination of photographic and research adventures.

Kanaan Desert Retreat Wildlife Conservation

Volunteers will become first-hand involved in conservation through the research and monitoring of free-ranging carnivores. You’ll also have the chance to take a day trip out to the iconic red Sossusvlei Dunes! Oh, and there’s wine there too.

The Rescue and Rehabilitation Course is for two weeks twice a year. Work with Wildlife Sanctuary staff leaning about animal behaviour, rescue and rehabilitation with the hopes of releasing back to the wild.

As a volunteer you will work hands on with animals. This will be an experience like no other and one you‘ll remember forever. Our exciting wildlife programs focus on the preservation of nature, and allows participants from all over the world the opportunity to work with Africa’s wildlife in a variety of roles.
