Pied Avocet Taxidermy Mount #00823

This is the taxidermy mount of a pied avocet!

The pied avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta) is large black and white wading bird native to Eurasia and Africa. Avocets have an unusual recurved bill which they use to forage for crustaceans and insects in the water. This is a rare species in collections!
Sourced from a US collection, this is a beautiful vintage example of the species in excellent condition. It has a lifelike pose and nice feathering. Please review all pictures and description for condition.
This specimen is a legal bird mount – it is not from an ESA- or MBTA-listed species and is legal to sell and possess. US sales only, sorry!
