Description
Afrikaans: Uittog van die Voortrekkers uit die oostelike Kaapkolonie, 1836/37, soos in die Voortrekkermonument uitgebeeld deur beeldhouer Peter Kirchhoff.
English: The first in a series of marble reliefs in the Voortrekker Monument that depict the history of the Boers during the Great Trek. This scene, depicting their 1836/37 exodus from the Cape Colony, was sculpted by Peter Kirchhoff who also modelled the figure at far left on himself.
