A new auction record was set last year in London when an 18th century Qianlong porcelain vase sold for over $58 million pounds. What makes the story more fantastic is that the vase was found in an attic by siblings who were preparing their deceased parents house for sale. That’s some kind of windfall. Knowing how organized my mother is, I’m sure I’ll find some neatly stacked ephemera such as cancelled checks and yearbooks.
